6th Annual 5K "Run for Shelter"

November 2, 2002, Charlottesville's Downtown Mall

Over 250 runners take-off from the start line braving a brisk, November morning.

Shelter Race Director, Matt Hodges (left) gives out last minute instructions to Board Member, Laura Hawthorne as the youngest runner (right) nears the finish line or maybe that was just a dash for the donuts!!!

Tired runners near the finish line--some even sporting last year's race shirt.

One of the youngest runners models this year's T-shirt.

Our run would not be such a successful event without the support of local businesses that provide prizes.

A women's group poses after successfully completing the race. The Shelter gives out special prizes to the group that has the most runners.

Way to go ladies!!!

Knowing how quickly runners work up an appetite, the Shelter has plenty of treats on hand for runners and on-lookers alike!
